There really isn’t much else to say about the past couple of weeks. With my day job heating up right now, there’s been little to do except work. Late nights, long weekends and stressful days don’t make for a very productive photography business at the moment. I was on my way to staying late again tonight and I just had push my chair out and walk out. I knew I had so many other things to do for ME and I needed to get away from there. Luckily or unluckily however you look at it, Nat was home about the same time I was and I did a mental unload on her. I think she was a bit taken aback by how much stuff came spewing out of my mouth about all I was worried, stressed, and frustrated about.

She always knows what’s good for me and momentarily┬ápried┬ámy away from my computer to have dinner with her and Norah, pop open a beer and just sit for a few minutes with her to enjoy the evening. “Step away for a few minutes to gain a little perspective. You’re too close to it and too frustrated right now to do much good,” she said. Of couse she was right. She my little pint sized logic maker.

So now that I hit the purge button it’s time to start (semi) fresh and get some stuff kicked out this weekend. I still have a ton of work that is coming at me with my day job, but hopefully I can fend some of it off and focus on some of my own projects as well. I’ve got some great ideas coming to me – now I just need the time to work on them.

Hope everyone is having a great Friday. Happy weekend.

Candice Benjamin I feel you. Stepping away is one of the most powerful things you can do. Take a lunch hour to just do nothing and relax. It can do a whole lot of good. If you ever want to chat you know who you can call. :)

Erin Oveis Brant Oh my goodness I totally hear you. I have been so in it the last few weeks that I can’t see my way out of it. This is a great reminder to just step away and regroup once and a while! Miss you and Nat, btw!!

Ashley Goodwin Ahhh, Nat. She’s always the wise one! I’ve been in the same place for a while now, too, busy busy busy with other things, frustrated to not be able to focus on photography, and even more frustrated to not be able to establish much of a client base while still here, but we just. gotta. keep. pushing! :) xo
