Wedding Season

So my first “official” wedding season is about to begin (I call it “official” for no other reason than I’m just going to declare it so for my own motivation plus the whole “saying it out loud thing” – see me try to backpedal!). As I start out, I’m excited. I’m nervous. I’m scared out of my mind for it all to begin. This past weekend, my wife, Natalie and I went to a friend’s wedding and I was able to get some shots of the bride and groom. Taking photos at their wedding solidified the sheer excitement more than any other emotion going into this new endeavor. I can’t wait to dive head first into it and learn, grow and share. I know I’ll be going from zero to panic as the weddings start approaching, but for now, I’m going into it with hesitant enthusiasm. The big day is coming and I can feel the butterflies starting to form in the pit of my stomach. I think I’m ready for it , but I’ll never really know until it’s game time and I’m knee deep in it. I just need to trust in my knowledge and skills and hang on for the ride….I can’t wait. I hope I survive.:)

So here are a few shots that I got at our friends’ Felicia and Pat’s wedding – just for fun. I wasn’t the photographer for the wedding, but took my camera and was able to get a few shots that I liked from their day. I loved getting to know their real photographer – Anne James – it was so awesome of her to talk shop with me when she had a brief moment of down time  (as well as the fact that she didn’t mind me posting any of my own photos from the day here). I can’t wait to see the shots she came away with from Felicia and Pat’s day.

Marj As another first season wedding photographer I’m here cheering you on and doing whatever else I can to make sure this is a great first season for both of us and more importantly, that there’s a second season.

daveb You’ve got talent and passion man! Trust it and run with it!

Ashley Goodwin Okay. TOTALLY love the shot of the little boy in his white tux and love love LOVE love the one of the couple standing by the table where she is looking at him over her shoulder. PRICELESS! It’s so good, it’s a fabulous natural pose and moment you captured, love it. Keep going full speed ahead!

LeolaK Ashley beat me to it…I second the little boy shot…and also the one as they are walking out of the ceremony too. Very nice captures! It’s good to have butterflies…keeps you on your toes…I don’t think you have anything to worry about!
