Source of Inspiration

This week’s theme of “home” continues in today’s post. I feel like the home has to have a certain comforting embrace in order to be classified as such. It has to be a place where you can feel comfortable and relaxed, yet energized and inspired as well. Going back to Arkansas to my parents’ home always makes me crave change in my own surroundings. My mom does such a brilliant job of making their house a home and I wish I could do to our house what she’s done with theirs. Of course, she’s had almost 40 years in that house to make it that way – it’s a slow evolution and collection. Every time I go back, there’s always something new and fresh there to make it different than that last time, yet still feeling like home. One of my favorite things to do when going back there is to wander the house for a while just checking out what’s moved, what’s been repainted, and what things have taken on new life. Like I said, it just makes me crave more design in my life. Have a look for yourself. Of course the dogs have a way of making their way into the layout of the rooms as well…

Have a wonderful Thursday!

daveb Always feels good to go home…and one thing I noticed in every picture is BOOKS. Maybe readers have something in them that yearns to create??

LeolaK Nice…looks very inviting too! Here’s a link to a blog I read that has a recent post about decorating with a postive, optimistic outlook. Thought maybe it will give you some other ideas. Thanks for sharing. http://www.positivelypresent.com/2011/06/decorating-for-an-optimistic-outlook.html
